YOUR RING IS NOT JUST A RING

A piece of jewellery is often associated with memories, stories, value-laden events and people that we care about and may have lost.

Your ring is not just a ring.

A ring is your story, your memories and your decisions. You wear it as a symbol of you and your life. If inherited, it carries more lives. It can hurt to lose your jewellery, because it is a symbol of who we are, and perhaps who our parents and grandparents were . A physical symbol that reminds you of who you are and what you want.

THE PERIOD OF NATURE IS MY DRIVE

The joy of making jewellery, has for me always been associated with a desire to materialise the eternal changeability of the world. Since I was a child, I have always enjoyed and resented the apple trees that bloom every spring. After a week, it had withered again. It has always frustrated me that it had an end, that the flowers just lay there in the grass… The world's flowering apple trees are only on loan, and my desire to shape that beauty is a desire to be able to maintain the eternally changing, right now and always. My jewellery does not smell of flowering apple trees, but you can keep them, you can put them in your pocket, or around your neck, or on your finger. The ring is connected with the circle that symbolises the eternal and the changeable. Because it contains everything and nothing, the perfect and the imperfect, and so it goes on indefinitely. Like the tree that blooms and blossoms as we rejoice and mourn.
